3 Things I Learned:
From the article on David LaChapelle I learned...
1. While you will always have critics, never let that derive from what you are trying to prove with your photographs
2. Do things "wrong". Though by normal standards your pictures may not be anything near "professional" photography, that isn't the point. Include whatever you think necessary to get across your point.
3. When working with well-known and iconic people, you can't just straight on shoot them. You have to depict them at a different angle to be original (and I'm not just talking about the camera angle).
2 Things That Inspired Me:
1. He ironically took celebrities and other famous people and presented them in a way that was social commentary about all the horrors and sometimes hypocracy that comes with fame.
2. LaChapelle didn't let his critics get to him, he continued doing what he believed best presented his point even though a lot of people called his work "overcrowded with obnoxious colors". That was part of the point.
1 Project Idea:
1. Stereotypes?
